HES is a research program as much as a framework. If you are a researcher — in personality psychology, cognitive science, affective science, clinical research, cross-cultural psychology, or a related field — there are three ways to engage: propose a validation study on a specific chain of HES elements; use HES as a shared vocabulary in your own published work; or contribute to the Measurement Maturity Level (MML) audits as new instruments enter the literature. Join the participant pool

The first wave of HES validation studies is being prepared for pre-registration. When data collection opens, studies will run on an external research platform, take about fifteen minutes, and require no account. Leave your email and we will invite you when the first questionnaire goes live — every completed response sharpens the framework's evidence base.

02 — Support the Research

Independent research needs independent support — and money is only one of the ways to give it.

2 ways to give

Donations. Contributions fund the six-chain validation program: participant compensation on Prolific, psychometric consultation, and the open-science infrastructure (OSF pre-registration, PsyArXiv preprints) that keeps the project publicly accountable. All studies are pre-registered before data collection begins. Every donation, whatever its size, is welcome.

Contribution beyond money. HES needs people as much as funding:

to review definitions, challenge chain designs, and co-author validation work; individual researchers and whole research teams alike.

to build HES Lingua, the translation and cross-cultural validation programme (see the HES Lingua page).
